About us

1948
Our story begins in 1948. In that year, Hinke Bakker's first generation, further referred to as "Grandpa Bakker," begins buying up merchandise, including iron in Coevorden.
01
1950
The discovery of the oil fields in Schoonebeek led to the first cooperation with companies, working in the oil and gas industry. A near collision of Grandpa Bakker and his bicycle, with a car of one of the companies involved, led to a first contact with this industry. This eventually led to several collaborations that continue to this day.
02
1968
In 1968, two sons take over the company and continue under the name Gebr. Bakker. Grandpa Bakker remains closely involved in the organization until he is 80 years old.
03
1984
Because the company is located between several oil and gas fields, there is increasing market demand for additional services. For the first time, a non-family member is being hired as a board member to manage this expansion.
04
1987
Bakker Oilfield Supply was founded as a new company. One of its pillars is the rental of parts and materials for oil and gas extraction. As a result of these developments, the organization expands its activities and focuses more and more on technical operations. The technical developments also lead to further differentiation in the activities of the various companies.
05
1991
Bakker Oilfield Supply acquires P. Boer & Sons, a company that performs a variety of assembly and disassembly work on sites. In addition to 10 employees, the following activities will be added to Bakker Oilfield Supply's range of services:

- Roller equipment to lift and move derricks to the next well site;
-Moveable sound absorbing walls;
A wireline department.

In the same year, BOS Wireline Services is established. This department is later divested.
06
2013
Due to the rapid growth and expansion of products and services at Bakker Oilfield Supply, the location on Stephensonweg became too small. It was decided to build a new office with workshop for Bakker Oilfield Supply at Hulteweg 10 in Coevorden. This will also become the headquarters of the Bakker Group. In the summer of 2013, this move was a fact and celebrated in a big way.
